After discussing his skin type, hair type, and desired outcomes, Ella recommended a course of six IPL treatments for optimal results. A patch test was conducted to ensure his skin would respond well to the treatment. Ella used settings tailored to his skin type and hair colour, carefully preparing the area with a protective gel and providing both the client and herself with protective eyewear.

IPL back hair treatment journey
The client returned for his first full IPL back hair removal session a few weeks later. The area was prepared by shaving, and a thick layer of cooling gel was applied. Using the same settings as the patch test, Ella meticulously treated the client’s back. Post-treatment, his skin showed slight signs of redness, a normal and temporary reaction that was soothed with cold pads and aesthetics aftercare products – Lynton Light Soothe Serum and Lynton Light Protect SPF 50.
By the second treatment, the client has already noticed a significant reduction in hair growth, with half as much regrowth compared to the first treatment.
Post-treatment the skin was slightly red again, but was causing no discomfort to the client. The same aftercare products were applied to soothe the skin.
The treatment process remained consistent, ensuring comfort and effectiveness with each session.
As the treatments progressed, the results became more pronounced. At the fourth session the client advised there had been no issues or irritation since the previous appointment.
The hair on his back had become very thin and patchy, a clear sign that the IPL treatment was working as intended.

By the final session, the results were outstanding. Hair growth on the client’s back was now minimal and much finer than before.
