A valued client, in her early 30’s, approached us as she has been struggling with evolving skin issues in more recent years and wanted advise on how to target specific areas of concern.
Juggling her roles as a working mum and an individual with limited time for skincare routines she wanted to explore our more advanced aesthetic facial treatment options to elevate her skin health and appearance, boosting her confidence and wellbeing.
As a regular loyal client for our more traditional treatments and our extensive range of Comfort Zone skin care products her trust in our expertise and guidance was the catalyst for her aesthetics skin rejuvenation journey.
Our client’s main areas of concern were:
Guiding the client through the aesthetic skin consultation process
Here at The Beauty Spot we are fully trained aesthetic skin consultants, utilising advanced facial aesthetics technology to target more complex skin concerns.
During our consultation process the client must complete a few forms to ensure there are no contra-indications to any of our aesthetic treatments. For example, there are some aesthetics treatments that cannot be performed if a client is on certain medication as it can make them sensitive to light. Or if they have any current illness’s, we may advise deferring certain aesthetic treatments until they have been addressed.
We complete a thorough skin consultation in the salon discussing the client’s main skin concerns.
We ask questions like how long have you had the problem? What products do you currently use on your skin? Have you tried any other methods to help address the specific skin concern?
“The staff were very knowledgeable and often answered any questions I had regarding skincare during my treatment with confidence.”
During the aesthetic skin consultation process we cleanse the skin and complete a skin analysis looking closely at all of the skin, not just the areas of concern. In the example of this client we could see that the skin looked a little lack lustre and de-hydrated with a small amount of pigmentation present.
We then carry out a skin test using our IPL machine. Its really important to do this to see how the client’s skin reacts to IPL for health and safety, to ensure there will be no adverse reactions if we decide to use IPL as part of their aesthetic treatment plan. Everyone’s skin is quite different and we may get varied results depending on the individual. Some client’s pigmentation can completely go within 2 treatments, whereas others may experience pigmentation fading and reduction, but it may not completely dissipate.
A tailored rejuvenating facial aesthetics treatment plan
We came up with a bespoke aesthetic skin treatment plan specifically tailored to this client’s skin concerns which included a course of illumiFacial IPL treatments and Mesotherapy ‘Skin Health’ treatments, combined with products for use at home.
Stage 1: illumiFacial treatments
We then recommended a course of 3 illumiFacial treatments, which include a skin peel and full-face IPL treatment. Following a deep cleanse, a unique Tri-Fruit Acid Lynton Fruit Peel was applied to the skin, for up to 10 minutes. This peel resurfaces skin texture and decongests pores, priming the skin ready for the IPL treatment.
Our advanced Lynton IPL technology was then applied, which uses pulses of light that are emitted to target discolouration (skin pigmentation brown and red lesions) to create a more youthful, even complexion. In addition, the light energy stimulates the fibroblast cells, leading to increased production of new collagen and elastin. This improves the texture of the skin, evening out lumps and bumps whilst reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
IPL is an effective solution for all the visible signs of ageing caused by sun damage, including:
“My skin felt a lot smoother after the first treatment and I particularly felt like the chemical peel refreshed my skin hugely and is what it needed to kick start everything.”
IPL treatment process questions answered…
We ran through what the IPL treatment would involve and some frequently asked questions about the IPL process with the client including:
What does IPL treatment feel like? The process is generally well-tolerated, requiring no anaesthesia. The sensation is often described as moderate and tolerable, similar to a brief pinprick. While undergoing treatment, you’ll also notice a comforting warmth on your skin.
How many IPL sessions will I need? Results begin to show after just a couple of treatments. To effectively address your unique skin concerns, a minimum of 3 to 6 sessions is recommended. These treatments, spaced between 4 to 6 weeks, allow for optimal outcomes. Following the initial sessions, periodic top-up treatments, typically once or twice a year, are performed to maintain the optimum achieved results.
What should I expect after an illumiFacial? After an illumiFacial®, you might experience a mild tingling sensation on your skin’s surface. Additionally, there might be a temporary darkening of pigmented spots, which eventually peel away. This process indicates the treatment’s effectiveness, leading to a more radiant and evenly toned complexion.
As time progresses, you’ll notice not only clearer and healthier skin but also a lasting improvement in skin firmness and suppleness. This is a result of the stimulation of new collagen deep within the skin tissue, occurring in the months following treatment.
How does IPL target acne? For those dealing with breakouts, IPL treatment offers an effective solution by addressing inflammation, it reduces both the severity and frequency of breakouts. Moreover, it works to diminish redness and pigmentation, contributing to a smoother, clearer complexion.
“After the treatments my skin was red, but not sore, and it felt refreshed. Two days later I could already see results. Before my treatment started, my skin was often quite sore when applying creams etc, due to small areas affected by acne, but two days after it had already started to feel less sore.”
Stage 2: Transformative Mesotherapy facial treatment
We carried out two Mesotherapy ‘Skin Health’ facials, one at the start of our client’s skin care plan and one towards the end. Mesotherapy facial treatments enhance skin radiance, improve texture, and elevate overall skin quality. This comprehensive five-step aesthetic treatment was selected for our client as it gives skin a rejuvenated and revitalised youthful appearance almost immediately.
Step 1: Refreshing cleanse and sterilisation – we began with a cleansing ritual, swiftly followed by the application of HYPO-21. This dynamic blend serves a dual purpose – exterminating bio-forms and sterilising the skin – setting the foundation for the treatment.
Step 2: Tailored skin peel – catering to our client’s unique skin concerns and condition, we carefully select the ideal peel from our range. The peel was gently administered and allowed to work its magic for up to 5 minutes before being delicately removed.
Step 3: Mesotherapy injections with NCTF serum – we load the NCTF serum into a micro syringe, preparing for the transformative Nappage technique. As we glide the syringe across the skin, tiny pockets are created, allowing the serum to penetrate the upper epidermis. The immediate results are evident – our client’s skin felt firmer, plumper, and radiantly rejuvenated.
Step 4: Amplify with Celluma LED light therapy – following the Nappage step, a touch of HYPO-21 restores balance, priming skin for the next Celluma LED light therapy phase. With a 30-minute application, this therapy takes skin transformation to new heights. Collagen and elastin cells receive a vital boost and cell turnover improves.
Celluma LED light therapy also effectively targets lines, wrinkles, photo-aged and environmental damage, dry and dehydrated skin, loss of radiance and skin density, open and enlarged pores, and oily combination skin.
Step 5: Infusing hydration and protection – completing the journey, a nourishing touch with FILLMED B3-recovery serum, enriched with hydrating wonders was applied. The inclusion of Vitamin B3 fuels collagen synthesis and fortifies the skin barrier. And we layer on SPF50+ to shield the client’s skin from the effects of photoaging.
“The ‘Skin Health’ facial felt tingly at first and then I had the Celluma light therapy, which almost made me fall asleep! IPL was not painful in most areas, but uncomfortable in a few i.e. the nose and lip area, however the results far outweigh that!”
Stage 3: Products for home care use
With any advanced treatments we always strongly advise using Lynton Light Protect SPF50 to protect the skin, not only from the sun but also from pollution and blue light from computers. SPF should be used all year round, not just in the summer months, it is important to protect your skin from unnecessary damage from UV rays and helps to slow the skin ageing process.
We also recommended Skin Regimen Vitamin C Booster, to use alongside her existing routine at home for its brightening properties – it helps improve the appearance of dark spots, uneven skin tone, dullness and dilated pores. It is vital that client’s wanting to see improvements in their skin are not only doing the in salon treatments but are using the correct, target focussed skin care products at home, as this will help to maximise the results.
“Emma also recommended I use the Skin Regimen Vitamin C Booster which I feel was a huge help alongside the treatments, and you could see the glow as soon as it was applied. I also use the SPF cream daily (which my husband also now steals!) which is not greasy and it is easy to apply my light make up over the top.”
Transformative facial aesthetic treatment results – before and after
Following a single treatment, our client’s testimony highlighted an instant surge in softness and rejuvenation of her skin.
After just one Mesotherapy ‘Skin Health’ facial, coupled with two illuminating illumiFacials the pigmentation has already lightened, unveiling a fresher and revitalised complexion.
From the initial to the last treatment, the impact of these aesthetic treatments on our client’s skin is clearly visible. Areas of pigmentation have experienced substantial reduction. The condition of her skin has experienced a significant improvement. Comparing the first image to the last; fine lines that previously lingered above the eyebrow area are no longer visible.
Overall the treatments proceeded as planned, although one instance called for a thoughtful adjustment to the plan. Considering the client’s recent sun exposure during a holiday, we opted against the IPL treatment. Instead, a decision was made to wait for four weeks and to perform a skin peel and Celluma light treatment instead.
We have recommended another illumiFacial, post-summer, to further diminish the remaining pigmentation. With confidence, we anticipate the fading of pigmented areas to continue.
Maintaining your aesthetic treatment results
For ongoing skin rejuvenation, a tailored approach is key. We recommend clients with specific concerns return every 2-3 months, dependent on their skin’s condition. Some may find that a maintenance visit once every 6 months preserves their rejuvenated look seamlessly.
“My skin looks and feels so much better! I no longer have the areas of acne that were sore, my skin feels refreshed and my pigmentation, that was really making me self-conscious, has faded. I will be continuing to maintain the skincare treatments as I am very happy with the results.”
Experienced aesthetic skin consultants
With over two decades of experience in the beauty and skincare realm, our salon owner, Emma Silcox, continues to be driven by an unwavering thirst for knowledge in all things skin-related. While our awareness of the products we apply to our skin might be comprehensive, we don’t necessarily understand the intricacies of what is going on underneath the surface and the different factors that can change how our skin looks and feels.
